He completed his Hotel Management studies at Ryde Hospitality College, then joined Cornell University and finally did a two-year management traineeship with Hilton International. Karen Johnson has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. Following her hospitality studies at University of Queensland Gatton campus, her career started in 1986 with Hilton Brisbane as a Corporate Trainee. Karen joined the pre-opening team at Hyatt Regency Coolum in 1988, moving into Rooms Division, and in later years Sales and Marketing in charge of market development in Victoria and New Zealand. In 1995, Karen moved to take up the role of Front Office Manager at SPHC’s Laguna Quays Resort in the Whitsundays. Karen spent 1997 and 1998 in the Maldives at Four Seasons Kuda Huraa Resort, before moving to London in 1999 and joining Four Seasons Hotel Canary Wharf as Training Manager. In 2001, Karen moved to Istanbul and joined Ritz-Carlton Istanbul as Personal Assistant to the General Manager. Returning to Australia with her family in 2004, Karen moved to Sydney in 2008 and joined Spectrum in 2009, taking on the role as Recruitment Executive in the international market.

Initially joining Spectrum in 1998 in the New Zealand office, Vanessa is now based in Melbourne with her territory covering Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand.
